Plane Lovers Fly into Sequim’s 2018 Air Affaire

This two day celebration includes antique plane exhibitions, a classic car show, helicopter and hot air balloon rides. Not to mention entertainment such as aerial demonstrations and a remote control aircraft show. And it wouldn’t be a summer fair without great live music and local food. A car load of your friends will only cost $5 for this fun filled day visiting sunny Sequim. See why so many pilots call Sequim the “blue hole.” The dry weather and mild temperatures make this the perfect location for aviation enthusiasts to call home.

Plane Exhibitions, Demonstrations and Entertainment

This two day event has a lot of activities and something for everyone. Certainly the antique plane exhibition is a favorite every year. And it also includes the Clallam County chapter of EAA-Kit Planes-Experimental Aircraft Association. They’re great group, dedicated to promoting aviation on the northern Olympic Peninsula.

Every year the classic car show outdoes itself with some rare and mint condition beauties. All vehicles are invited to enter the show for a chance to win prizes. Stroll through the foreign cars, military Hot Air Balloon flying against a blue sky and plane fairvehicles, motorcycles, and trucks. While the kids will enjoy the emergency vehicles on display and the chance to look inside.  

Appreciate the view from a thrilling helicopter tour or enchanting hot-air balloon ride. The Morning Star Balloon Co. will have rides available around 7:00 am both days of the fair. While Atomic Helicopters has several local tours to choose from on Saturday and Sunday.

While safely on the ground watch daring aerial demonstrations . The Diamond Point Swift Formation Team dazzle viewers with aerial maneuvers including dramatic smoke trails. Also don’t miss the thrilling skydiving and wing walking demos.

The remote control (RC) aircraft groups show off their latest creations with a stunt flying show. The Sequim RC Aeronauts and the Olympic RC Modelers from Port Angeles display their amazing array of crafts sunset silhouette of planeranging from giant to featherweight. After trying your own hand at an RC computer simulator, you might just get hooked.

The Olympic Peninsula Air Affaire is a great excuse to come out to sunny Sequim for a fun weekend.
