First on our list is the Dockside Grill, overlooking the picturesque Sequim Bay. Ttey serve up some of the best Northwest cuisine around, and have the distinction of being the only waterfront restaurant in Sequim. While you sip a glass of Washington wine, keep an eye out for resident herons flying by. Watch sea otters playing near sailboats as you enjoy a Dockside Martini with succulent Dungeness Silver Oysters. Next is Alder Wood Bistro, with its charming courtyard for fresh air dining. This enclosed sunny garden is an oasis in the lively downtown. Here, savor creative twists on salads, seafood and wood fired pizza dishes, all made with free-range, organic and sustainable ingredients. The friendly staff will guide you to the perfect wine to pair with your meal. Finally, their handcrafted desserts are a must to end a perfect meal in this relaxed garden setting.

Away from the center of Sequim you will find Nourish. You’ll relax in the garden that grows much of the produce and herbs found in the fresh menu selections. Although all dishes are gluten-free, there is no compromise on flavor. The choices are wide and satisfying for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike. After ordering from a sunny table in the gorgeous garden, walk the grounds and enjoy the picturesque scene overlooking the Sequim Valley. This restaurant is truly a little slice of heaven.

If you’re looking for fun and casual dining, check out Jose’s Famous Salsa. Located right on Washington St., you can people watch from their patio tables while sipping a refreshing margarita. Owner Jose (Yes! There really is a Jose!) began by selling his original salsas at Dining outdoors with a cold beersurrounding farmers markets. Now you can choose from a wide variety at the restaurant’s unlimited salsa bar. Try the mild or spicy salsas on top of your freshly made pork tamale, fish taco, or beef burrito. Or enjoy the many vegetarian options with a side of creamy guacamole. Add an ice cold drink from the excellent beer list and you have the perfect summer night out.

Even if you plan to be on the go all day exploring the natural beauty that surrounds Sequim, there’s still plenty of creative ways to enjoy a little al fresco dining. Start the morning off with a stop at Adagio Bean & Leaf for a breakfast sandwich and coffee on their sunny patio. All beverages are made with organic, fair trade coffees and teas. If you’re looking for family fun, then picnic at the Sequim Bay Park.
