Take one look at the snow-capped peaks surrounding us, and it should come as no surprise that there are a variety of winter activities to choose from on the Olympic Peninsula.  Surprisingly, a list of engaging winter activities on the Olympic Peninsula can look a lot like the activities enjoyed throughout the year.  Beach-combing, biking, hiking, camping, boating, and even golfing can be enjoyed year-round.  The mild weather enjoyed at the coastal beaches, such as local favorites Second Beach, the Ozette Triangle, and Kalaloch are only 2-3 hours away; perfect for any weekend getaway!

While very little snow actually falls in Sequim itself, you’re never too far away from a day of powdery white fun in places like local favorite Hurricane Ridge.  At an elevation of 5,000 ft., this beautiful recreation area gets an astounding average of 400 inches of snow each year.  Located in the Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge offers more than stunning views.  Here, you’ll find alpine skiing and snowboarding, as well as cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails.
